- C123E F0 – ABS Wheel Speed Sensor – Signal Comparison Failure

Symptoms: Decreased brake performance, unusual feedback or noise during braking and the ABS Warning Light illuminated on the dashboard
- Fault Code C054A 00
Description: Points to a problem with the ABS Sensor responsible for Hydraulic Boost Compensation
Possible Causes: Malfunctioning or misaligned ABS Sensor that measures Hydraulic Pressure
Symptoms: Variable brake pedal feel, increased effort required for braking, unusual noises during braking and activation of the ABS Warning Light

Description: Indicates an issue with the Brake Booster Pump
Possible Causes: Faulty Brake Booster Pump Motor or issues with its electrical connections
Symptoms: Reduced brake assist, increased pedal effort, longer braking distances, abnormal noise while braking and the ABS Warning Light illuminated
- Fault Code C123E F0
Description: Suggest a potential issue with the ABS Sensor Circuit
Possible Causes: Wiring problems, Sensor Circuit Malfunction or damaged connectors
Symptoms: Inconsistent ABS operation, activation of the ABS Warning Light, unusual feedback during braking and a potential loss of ABS functionality
Our technician performed a complete analysis of the ABS unit and Servo and determined that the Sensor was not sending data. The technician removed the sensor to visually inspect and test the wiring and terminals which they noticed were in good condition.
Then they used an advanced piece of equipment called an oscilloscope to confirm that the live, earth and signal voltages were according to specifications. This meant that nothing was wrong with the circuit, instead, they concluded that the sensor was faulty.
Replacing the Faulty Sensor and ABS Unit Resetting
Once the issue was identified, our skilled technician at Swift Motor Services promptly placed an order for a new brake servo vacuum sensor. Having removed the faulty sensor from the vehicle, the replacement was swiftly fitted, ensuring minimal inconvenience for the customer.
Following the installation, a comprehensive inspection of the entire brake system was carried out to guarantee its proper operation. Using the Audi dealer software, our technician cleared the fault codes and monitored live data from the brake servo vacuum sensor, confirming that the unit was once again functioning seamlessly.
To further confirm the success of the repair, a test drive was undertaken, meticulously assessing brake feel, noise levels and overall performance. It was rewarding to see no evidence of warning lights on the dashboard, normal brake pedal feedback and no unusual noises from the Braking System. A job well executed!
